Summary :
The main objective of this article is to illustrate the extensive use of hydroxyapatite bone cement (HABC) in ossiculoplasties of the middle ear. Otomimix®, commercial hydroxyapatite cement, is often used in ear surgery for the rebridging of incudostapedial joint discontinuity, caused by trauma or infectious processes. However, hydroxyapatite cement can also be used for other purposes in ossiculoplasty, producing stable and definitive results. The authors present some cases of atypical use of hydroxyapatite cement in reconstructive surgery of the middle ear.
