Summary : Objectives: To review the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic, charts of 58 patients with mucocele of sinus collected in 16 years experience. Material and methods: Fifty-eight cases of patients with mucocele of paranasal sinuses were collected retrospectively. Age, gender, background, clinical presentation, radiological findings, surgery and induced morbidity, recurrence, were the data analyzed. Results: The distribution between the two sexes was similar. The average age was 39 years. The notion of antecedent trauma was noted in 14 cases (24.13%). The frontal location was the most common clinical presentation, 20 cases (34.48%), and pyocele noted in 16 cases (27.58%). The lysis of the anterior wall of the sinus was the predominant aspect on CT scan. All the patients underwent external surgery approach, with nasalization of the sinus concerned. The complications were noted in 20 cases (34%). With a mean follow up of 15 months, we noted two cases of recurrence (3.44%). Conclusion: With a relatively low rate of recidivism, the external surgical technics are still indicated in the treatment of mucocele, in our practice, alongside the modern technics of endoscopic marsipualisation recently introduced in our practice.
